Welcome Back, Stranger
Since my hiatus last summer, everything in life has changed -- not just the year on the calendar. My work scheduled is different, my baby is now walking, new friends have come into my network, and the whole family has been slowing getting the hang of our new 'normal' after the loss of my brother-in-law. It has not been easy and I have missed blogging to send out supportive, positive vibes to all you creatives! I have also missed blogging on a personal level. For those who have not read back in time, I work on these blogs as a way to give myself a pep-talk. If in the course of writing these to myself...if it helps another spirit out there...then so much the better. It is hard to give yourself that cheer of encouragement if you are not opening up and saying anything!
So it has definitely felt like a spoke in my wheel has been missing without blogging. BUT, in my defense, going for months with only a few hours of sleep a night, I've been honestly unable to function at the level I expect out of myself when it comes to writing. Only recently has the baby toyed with giving me 6 uninterrupted hours of sleep. I wonder if it will last seeing as how now I am spotting new teeth coming in.
Needless to say, I'm beginning to come back to myself!
With all that has been going on, I am just now starting to see the new me...new, wonderful, work-from-home mom me. The fog of 'babyhood' always has us stumbling in the dark for a while, wondering where the emergency exit is, doesn't it? But as the dust settles and the sun peeks over the horizon, things come into focus and that's where I am now.
I'm at that dawn only to find it's almost March! haha
So Happy New Year, my dear creatives. It's time for us to embark on a new journey together. I not only want to celebrate myself as an imperfect author, but as a working mom juggling babies and little boys, a wife of a handsome husband who is taking new leaps and a person who is healing and growing through the wonderful roller-coaster of life.
I hope this year to share more stories of my crazy life and not just stick to writing about...writing. After all, what is this gift of writing if not to open up a bit more and share my life through some writing! We are all going through crazy times and it might help to know that I'm not on a pedestal over here by any stretch of the imagination.
So thanks for sticking with me so far and I hope to see you back here soon. We are going to go on an amazing ride this year and I am going to work very hard to be present both in life and here in the blog to share it with you!
